Mission & Vision
PastorServe's mission is to love, serve, and bless pastors and ministry leadership. When words like, "I just can't take it anymore..." come to the surface, we want to be there to help. Perhaps more importantly, we want to help to keep those words from ever taking shape in the heart.
We long to see healthy and thoroughly equipped men and women in ministry leadership, people who follow their call with enthusiasm. PastorServe believes that healthy ministry leaders are:
- Christ-centered, called by God and motivated by the grace of the Gospel. They live under the authority of Christ and are deeply committed to the local church.
- Connected to a peer group, characterized by authenticity, in which the pastor receives care and encouragement. They have a vision for thier community which is larger than any one denomination, culture or generation.
- Committed to a support structure for excellence in ministry. They are teachable and understand the benefits of outside agents like PastorServe to counsel, coach, and consult.
- Competent in the primary skills necessary to pastor and lead effectively and with confidence. In humility, they seek help to build on their strengths and address their weaknesses.
PastorServe's work centers around these four areas and takes a variety of forms. The staff meets personally with hundreds of pastors each month, connects pastors to networks of like-minded ministry leaders, and prays fervently. The Ministry Training Institute offers a series of workshops and provides online resources that focus on the 24 Ministry Competencies that correlate with ministry effectiveness. PastorServe also seeks to inspire and train others who will actively and appropriately care for their pastors and leaders.
"And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you...overwhelm them with appreciation and love!"
(I Thessalonians 5:12-13, The Message)
